Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change my race distance the day of the race?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to change your distance the day of the race as the chips have been pre-programmed with the distance you have chosen. If you go ahead and just race another distance, it will not be an accurate time for the distance. It will also confuse other runners when results are posted.
Can I change my race distance before race day?
Yes! Any changes to your distance can be done online prior to registration closing at midnight the day before the race. Go to your dashboard to make the changes. Please note, there is a $10 charge to make any changes.
Can I register in person?
Online Registration is open until Midnight the day before the race. Registrations received after May 1 will not include a gift bag. (sorry, but we need time to get the t-shirts printed and delivered)
Day of race registrations will be accepted in person until 5:30 pm, no gift-bag will be included.
I registered for the Character Run and now something has come up. Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, all entries are non-refundable.
How is the race being timed?
The technology used to time is called a bibtag. It consists of a timing chip which is placed at the back of a bib that provides timing data without requiring participants to manipulate a chip. The participant simply wears the bib and runs/walks. The bibtags are placed on the bibs at Sportstats and should not be removed from the bib. Participants are required to wear their bib on their chest and keep it visible throughout the event. Avoid folding/creasing/crumbling the bib as this may damage the bibtag.
What is a timing chip?
A timing chip is a high-tech device used to time race participants during a race. It consists of a miniature transponder and is marked with a unique identification number. As the race participant crosses the starting line mat at the beginning of the race, it sends a signal to power the chip and the timing system starts recording the time. Once the race participant crosses the finish line, it sends another signal to the timing system recognizing that the participant has completed the race.
